Jimmy Covington is a person who lives in the really bad part of west side Baltimore. Jimmy's house has been broken into 3 times. In all the 3 times he has lost something special. He has lost his wife,daughter, and dog. Jimmy only has his son Jimmy Jr. left living in his house as of today. Jimmy decides to go out and get a gun to prevent people from breaking into his house. Jimmy finds a guy on the street to buy a gun from. Jimmy does not know that he needs a gun permit to have a legal gun in his house. So about a month later, on a Sunday morning at 3 a.m.Jimmy is asleep when he hears commotion in his house. He grabs his gun out of his night stand and quietly creeps outside of his bedroom door to see who has just broken into his house. He looks around the corner from the top of stairs and sees a dark figure going through a drawer in a desk in the living room. Jimmy cocks his gun and shoots the intruder. Jimmy runs down the stairs, turns on the light and discovers his intruder to be a 22 year old black man. Jimmy calls the police and notifies them that he has just shot an intruder breaking into his house, and they come.
(Moments later the police and the ambulance arrived at Jimmy's house on 33rd and North Ave.)
Police Officer #1 - Mr Covington I understand there has been a break and you caught the intruder. Where exactly did you shoot him and from where in your house? Jimmy - I shot him from the top of my staircase and I think I shot him in the thigh. Police Officer #1- Also, where do you think he broke in from? Jimmy- He came from the back window in the kitchen. Thats where they always break in from. This is the 4th time that this has happened. Police Officer#1- Yes I know this has been going a lot for you and I really apologize for all this. Jimmy- Yes thank you officer Police Officer#1- Where is the intruder that you have shot? Jimmy- (walking towards the steps) he is right here at the bottom of the steps. Police Officer #1 - Ok, so where is the gun now sir? Jimmy - Its back in my night stand upstairs.
